Call for submissions for Rampenlichter Festival 2027

Every two years, Rampenlichter serves as an international venue for extraordinary performances and a platform for fresh, democrARTic ideas from young artists. Children, teenagers, and young adults aged 6 to 27 present their productions and explore artistic potential in dance and theater.

Rampenlichter is not about competition. Instead, it celebrates diverse perspectives on a wide range of topics, the richness of different performance styles, participatory processes, artistic exchange, shared workshops, and international encounters between young artists.

We are looking for dance, theatre, or dance theatre productions for the 15th Rampenlichter Festival, taking place in Germany from July 9 to 23, 2027, performances that express what moves and inspires young artists.

Whether short or long performances, solo pieces or works created by small or large groups, what matters most is that the pieces are developed by the young artists themselves or emerge from a collaborative creative process between children/young people and adults. Of course, young artists with and without disabilities are equally encouraged to apply.

Invited groups will spend a special festival week in Munich together with other ensembles - With opportunities for everyone to watch performances, take part in an inspiring program of artistic events, present your own production, and enjoy meals. For national and international groups, accommodation and travel tickets for public transport in Munich are also provided.

You can apply with your performance from November 1, 2026 to January 11, 2027.
