Teach and Lead professional development workshops for teachers, theatre practitioners who teach, and creatives with a desire to develop their devising practice
August Essentials Auckland
Dates: Sat 8 + Sun 9 August, 10am - 4pm daily
Venue: Massive Theatre Company - 562 Richmond Road, Grey Lynn
Teaching Artists: Sam Scott & Jes’mine Palaaia
Essentials workshops are for those who are 20+ years who are keen to learn how Massive Theatre Company creates theatre. You may be a beginner, have some previous training, or be an experienced practitioner - all levels and abilities are welcome. The workshop content changes each time, so is suitable for both those who have attended a previous Massive workshop and those who have not.
Participating in this workshop is by koha, either in advance by bank deposit, or on the day.

Massive’s free Foundations theatre workshops are designed for rangatahi aged 15-25 years. You may be taking part in drama classes at school, Uni or have done some acting in the past - but even if you haven’t, these workshops are suitable for all levels of experience.

September Essentials Intensive Auckland
Dates: Mon 14 - Fri 18 September, 10am - 4pm daily

This 5-day Essentials workshop is for those who are 20+ years who are looking for a more intensive theatre making experience. As with all Massive workshops, you may be a beginner, have some previous training, or be an experienced practitioner - all levels and abilities are welcome. The workshop content changes each time, so is suitable for both those who have attended a previous Massive workshop and those who have not.

October Foundations West Auckland (a collaboration with Te Pou Theatre)

The Teach and Lead workshop is a one-day hands-on professional development workshop designed for teachers, theatre practitioners who teach, and creatives with a desire to develop their devising practice.
Led by Sam Scott, Massive’s Founder and Artistic Director, this workshop offers an opportunity to explore the company’s unique approach to making devised physical theatre. Learn through doing with processes you can use to make brave, bold, playful performance pieces with your students.
Wellington Teach and Lead
