Badjelly the Witch
There’s something gloriously bonkers brewing at StageAntics… and it smells faintly of sausages, spells, and a slightly unhinged witch 👀
This April, StageAntics launches its first-ever professional production as part of our brand-new Next Steps Initiative- a bold (and necessary) bridge between youth theatre magic and the big wide world of pre-professional performance. Because what happens after school shouldn’t be a cliff edge… it should be a launchpad 🚀
Enter: Badjelly the Witch - adapted by Alannah O’Sullivan from the delightfully chaotic mind of Spike Milligan, and brought to life by six fierce, funny, wildly talented rangatahi aged 19–21. Expect nonsense, heart, ridiculousness, and just the right amount of theatrical mayhem.
But this isn’t just a show - it’s kaupapa in action.
At StageAntics, access isn’t an afterthought, it’s part of the spell. We’re proud to offer:
✨ Sign interpreted performances
✨ Relaxed performances
✨ Discounted tickets for neurodiverse audiences and those with accessibility needs
✨ Discounted tickets for support workers
Because theatre should be for everyone - no exceptions, no fine print.
So gather your whānau, your friends, your inner child (and maybe a sausage or two)… and come see what happens when the next generation steps up.
