Kua Rewa Te Aihikirīmi
A double scoop of fun, sprinkled with aerial acrobatics, contortion, ice cream juggling, and encounters with friends from te taiao, this delightful te reo Māori circus journey blends fun, mischief, and environmental awareness.
On a sizzling day in Tāmaki Makaurau, siblings Miro and Nikau are on a quest to get the biggest ice creams in Aotearoa for their whanau from the legendary Te Kao Store! They set off on a magic speedy haerenga to Te Hiku o te Ika, but on their return the ice creams start to melt, turning their trip home into an epic survival adventure.
This show is created with Tamariki (4-12yrs old) in mind, but can be enjoyed by the whole whānau! Kua Rewa Te Aihikirīmi will have everyone laughing and learning as the cheeky siblings navigate challenges to find each other and get the ice cream home safely to the whānau, sharing important environmental issues through the wonders of circus.
Kua Rewa Te Aihikirīmi is our annual tamariki show and will be presented in venues across Tāmaki Makaurau this August:
Te Pou Theatre (Aug 8th)
Ellerslie Arts (Aug 15th)
We have additional shows for schools only at these venues and Mangere Arts Centre. If you are interested in making a booking for your school group, please contact Stormy Kay on tour@tepoutheatre.nz
