TAHI New Zealand Festival of Solo Performance

10—20 SEP 2025

16 shows. 20 solo performances.

ONE powerful celebration of storytelling.

Nau mai, haere mai and welcome to TAHI 2025!

TAHI returns this September to uplift, amplify and celebrate the powerful voices of Aotearoa NZ’s storytellers.

We’re proud to nurture bold new work, fresh perspectives, and the rich diversity of solo theatre across Pōneke and beyond.

The festival programme includes several shows suitable for young audiences:

There once was a boy…: A boy, stranded at sea as a storm bears down on him, ponders his life and the choice he made to come here. Recommended for ages 10+. More

Grass Roots: A heartfelt and charming musical about the colossal culture of rugby. Recommended for ages 13+. More

Social Animal: Biting satire and theatre wizardry fuse in a comically inventive roller-coaster about the fear of irrelevance and the healing power of an animal. Recommended for ages 13+. More

Tangihanga: A solo drama-comedy centred around Jess - a devoted daughter whose father, Karanipa, has passed away. Recommended for ages 13+. More
